Today there is a choice of 18 Luxury 1 or 2 bedroom Self-catering Apartments and 16 Bed & Breakfast rooms. 

From our first visit in 1990 we fell in love with the Gambia and knew this was the place we wanted to spend the rest of our days. It took sometime to make the necessary arrangements but we were not deterred. Finally we achieved our goal and made the move in 1994. Forging ahead with our plans to build our dream, Luigis was finally established in November 1995.

We started business predominately as a Pizza House with a small guest house of just 4 rooms. It was an immediate success, ”THE GAMBIA LOVED PIZZA!” This was the first real Pizza House in the Gambia and still to this day is where you can get the only true Italian Pizza!

Pizza is made for sharing with family or friends and Africans love to share their food. You will always be invited to join in when people are eating in this country and this is one of the reasons why Pizza is so popular! We have tailored some of our Pizzas to local taste; you will notice an African influence in our toppings as they love meat and lots of it. “Gambian Feast” or the famous “Luigi’s Special” is our No 1 seller. Vegetarians don’t despair; there is plenty for you too. Italian food is great for vegetarians and we have a wide selection on the Ala cart menu for those who aren’t too keen on Pizza and Pasta. End your meal with one of our home made cakes or delicious Ice creams: real freshly made Espresso or Cappuccino.

The demand for good clean rooms encouraged us to expand our accommodation facilities. Today there is a choice of 17 Luxury 1 or 2 bedroom Self-catering Apartments and 12 Bed & Breakfast rooms. Luigis has all the facilities of a big hotel, but is small enough to offer a warm and personal service. Our long standing and experienced staff are well trained and take great pride in their jobs. Our Self Catering Apartments are ideal for long winter breaks; they have all the home comforts and are clean and spacious. We are located close to the beach for long lazy walks and yet within easy reach of shops.
